Greg Leonard has over forty years of leadership experience in the Natural Products Industry serving much of that time as a senior executive for Tree of Life, one of the largest wholesale distributors in the business. While at Tree of Life, Greg led highly successful sales, marketing, procurement and product development teams. He contributed to the growth of Tree of Life from $2 Million in annual sales when he joined the company in 1974, to over $2 Billion in sales by 2002.

Since leaving the distribution business, Greg has continued to have an active role in the Natural Products Industry working closely with key independent retailers on strategic planning and as an advisor on matters associated with business development.


Martin has played an active role in the development of the Natural Products Industry since the early 1970s when he managed the Way of Life Co-Op in New York. Since then, his role has evolved from an Organic Chef to General Manager of Westbrae Natural Foods to Founder of Koyo Foods, a brand of organic Asian food products that was later sold to United Natural Foods. His in-depth knowledge of all aspects of the organic & biodynamic food industry has supported his current professional consulting business, identifying and assisting new food companies from product development and marketing to launch.


Bruce R. Kern is co-founder of The Data Council, Inc. in Jacksonville, Florida. Bruce graduated from the University of Cincinnati with a Bachelors Degree in Business Administration. He started his career with Proctor & Gamble in Sales and Marketing, and in 1985 created a food marketing and consulting business, First Coast Sales, Inc., to help manufacturers and retailers develop retail brand programs. In 2000, he formed Logix3 to offer web enabled technology services in product management, packaging and quality assurance areas to improve efficiency and accountability between retailers, distributors and food product producers.

He serves on the Board of Jacksonville University, Everbank, The Paul Anderson Youth Home and the Boys and Girls Clubs of NE Florida.


Jordan Smith has focused his entire career working in the organic foods industry, with expertise in managing operations and sourcing of organic retail products from around the world, from Thailand to Greece. Jordan’s past roles include VP of Operations and Procurement at SunOpta and Manager of Earth’s Best in its initial stages of development. Currently, Jordan acts as Supply Chain & Technical Consultant for organic food solutions company, Pure Sales Organics. He is responsible for supply chain management and ingredient sourcing for Alive & Well products.


David’s career began at age 17 in a small Los Gatos, California advertising agency. He began a design studio at 21. In 1974 he co-founded Gauger Sparks Silva in San Francisco, now Gauger + Associates. A graduate of San Jose State University, he has taught design, advanced visual communications, advertising and green & social marketing. He has created branding and advertising programs for natural and organic foods, solar energy, green building, nutritional supplements and natural beauty aids. His firm’s work has garnered hundreds of awards in the USA and abroad. He serves on the board of the Museum of Craft and Design in San Francisco.

In bringing Alive & Well Organic Probiotic Olives to market in the United States, Legacy III Partners has collaborated with Sotiris Kitrilakis and Alisia de Maar to connect Alive & Well to the producers in Greece and help build awareness of the benefits of traditional fermented foods.  Sotiris is the founder of the Peloponnese and Mt. Vikos brands, and Alisia the founder of Qupia, and together with their partner Kostas Pacheos they bring more than 70 years of food experience working with communities of family farms and producers in Greece and the Mediterranean. This collaboration builds on their long-term efforts to bring traditional, live, fermented products to the American market.
